Crime busting is expensive

How much intel fund does the Malacanang occupant hold? And how much for the AFP?  We've been hearing about modernizing our armed forces these past presidential regimes, but it looks like we haven't seen any significant allocation in the annual budget for that purpose, have we?

The issue of funding came up lately as an afterthought of the Luneta hostage snafu, and this has something to do with equipment and trainings for the national police especially the SWAT.

Over there in Jamaica, which is just about the size of one major island in the Philippine archipelago we suppose, they're talking about the need to acquire $500-million worth of intelligence equipment, and that's probably for police work alone.  We guess they have a modernized national security force, otherwise the funding requirement would certainly be quite staggering.

Quo vadis, PNP and AFP?
